Lockyer Valley Islamic Association (LVIA)
The LVIA was established in 2011 in Gatton, Queensland to serve the needs of the local Muslim Community.
The Lockyer Valley is an hour west of Brisbane and 30 mins from Toowoomba.
The region includes Gatton, Laidley, Plainland and the surrounding towns and has a total population of around 38000.
Over the years there has been a migrant Muslim population from Turkey, Iraq, Afghanistan and a sprinkling from other countries and more recent migrants include the Sudanese, Burmese Rohingye and Bangladeshi Muslims as well as a student population from Malaysia, Indonesia and Pakistan who have made the Valley their home.
In June 2013 a Musallah (Place of Prayer) was established. The Centre is situated centrally at 36 North Street, in Gatton and is open for daily Salah, including Juma'ah Prayers.
The activities of the LVIA are open to all communities.

New Islamic Centre (LVIC Pty Ltd)
Alhamdulillah in 2017 we purchased a 1 acre block of land with an existing home on it, at 225 Woodlands Road in Gatton; to establish a permanent Masjid | Islamic Centre for the Lockyer Valley Muslim Community.
All the necessary Council approvals were received in 2018 for a Centre which included a Community Centre and a place of worship with adequate parking. Once further operational works approval was received, formal construction work commenced in October 2021.
Alhamdulillah renovations have commenced at the property at 225 Woodlands Road for this first Islamic Centre in the Lockyer Valley.
The first phase of the project will include road widening to create a turning lane to avoid any traffic issues, then relocating the existing driveway to make access into the Centre safer, creating car parks and renovation of the existing home for a Musallah for daily prayers.
The estimated cost for this first phase of the project is $326 000.
To support the project kindly do so via PayPal using the QR Code or by using your Credit Card. To receive a receipt kindly email details to [email protected]
We also have approval for a new 500sq m building for the Masjid, which will be phase 2.
